Description

The Foundation is accepting proposals for its Applying Financial Theory to Improve Life-Cycle Investing grants with the goal of applying the latest financial theory into everyday investment decision-making. Of interest are projects that research, develop, test, and evaluate products and strategies that help older Americans make sound investment decisions during their retirement years. The Foundation is also interested in projects that improve understanding of risk at various stages of life, as well as individuals’ asset allocation, diversification, and rebalancing decisions. Those that assist mid-career individuals who must navigate the transition from a defined-benefit retirement plan to a 401(k) or similar retirement investing are also a priority. Projects should include an assessment of current financial theory and studies; a practical and cost-effective solution; a pilot study; rigorous evaluation; marketing and distribution recommendations; and partnerships to accomplish the work. The Foundation’s program is administered through the National Endowment for Financial Education.
