Category

: Seniors/Aging

Description

The Foundation was created by the founder of the Cosmopolitan Life Insurance Company. Grantmaking is focused on aging issues and is intended to honor Durham’s state desire to serve “God’s Older Children.” Through its grants, the Foundation provides opportunities for older persons to remain productive; improve the quality of life for older persons; and, enables older persons to enrich the life of their communities. The Foundation provides seed money to start new programs, to develop new models which demonstrate better ways to provide services, and to expand or improve services offered by established agencies. Funding for research, technical assistance, education, and training will be considered in those program areas consistent with the Foundation’s mission. The Foundation makes grants primarily in Memphis, Tenn., and the Mid-South, including West Tennessee, Northeast Arkansas, and Northwest Mississippi. However projects of national significant which could be replicated in this area will be considered. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
