Description

The Foundation’s Innovations in Reading Prize will award $10,000 to an individual or organization that has developed an innovative project which creates and sustains a lifelong love of reading in the community they serve. In addition to the winner, the Foundation will recognize four projects, which will receive honorable mentions. All U.S. citizens and American institutions are eligible for the prize. Previous winners can apply for new initiatives. Examples include after-school and community-based programs; nonprofits such as museums and libraries; and startups focused on reading and literature. Applicants should share the Foundation’s mission to expand the audience for literature in America. Priority will be given to programs that focus on reading, rather than strictly literacy skills. Applicants may submit their own application or nominate another. Additional details as well as an online application can be found on the Web site.
