DescriptionThe Foundation has announced a shift in the focus of its Community Grants program. Going forward, the Foundation will work to foster understanding and promote actions designed to inspire conservation within the Salish Sea region, an intricate network of coastal waterways that includes the southwestern portion of the Canadian province of British Columbia and the northwestern portion of the state of Washington. The Foundation offers two levels of grants. Level 1: Community Conservation Education Grants are limited to no more than $5,000 and are meant to support modest, short-term projects related to conservation education that are consistent with the Foundation’s mission. Level 2: The Paul Wiseman Conservation Education Grant, are limited to no more than $15,000 in support of substantial projects that envision environmental education benefits with carefully articulated goals and outcomes. The application for Level 1 grants is April 14, 2017. Projects may include direct educational programs and materials related to environmental conservation; lectures, conferences, and seminars; written or audiovisual awareness materials; and/or curriculum or other instructional materials.
