DescriptionThe Foundation, created in 1995, has as its goal to “integrate people with disabilities into all aspects of American life.” The Foundation’s funding priorities include consumer-oriented projects that enable people with disabilities to lead fulfilling, independent lives; innovative policy research and education on market-based approaches to health care and rehabilitation; improving and expanding quality health services, especially palliative care; and education and training of health and rehabilitation professionals. The Foundation does not provide grants to individuals. The Foundation’s board of directors meets bi-annually, usually in May and October. There are no formal proposal deadlines. Letters of inquiry and proposals are processed on an ongoing basis. Requests are not accepted via fax, e-mail, or overnight mail.
