The Carl And Paula Koch Foundation
The Foundation funds evangelization activities of the Roman Catholic Church throughout the world. The Foundation awards most of its grants in two primary areas: preparation of evangelists and direct evangelization. Preparation grants are awarded for education and religious formation of men and women for missionary congregations and the development of lay leaders. Direct evangelization grants support programs and religious activities which directly support, strengthen, or spread the teaching of the Catholic faith. To a lesser extent, the Foundation also awards grants in the following three areas: Catholic schools, mass media, and capital expenditures. Grants for Catholic schools are awarded to educational institutions in impoverished areas where the schools are the primary means of evangelization or for specialized programs that have the potential to provide future Church leaders. Mass media grants are awarded to radio and printed media outlets. Capital expenditure grants are for the development of Catholic organizations in promoting the Catholic faith. With Capital expenditure grants, construction projects must have at least 50 percent of the total cost of the project in hand. Requests for capital expenditures only are by invitation. Applicants for all grants must be Catholic organizations as recognized by the Catholic hierarchy in Rome. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
