Women’s Studio Workshop

Category

: Women

Description

The Workshop aims to encourage the voice and vision of individual women artists, providing professional opportunities to women artists at various stages of their careers. The Workshop also promotes programs designed to stimulate public involvement, awareness, and support for the visual arts. The Workshop’s Art-in-Education Artist Book Residency is awarded to two emerging women artists in support of their efforts to create a new artist’s book and to teach young people. The first half of the residency is devoted to producing a limited edition artist’s book. During the second half of the residency, the artists work with young people in the Workshop’s studios teaching one to two days a week for three to four weeks, and visiting the students twice in school. The program provides a stipend of $350 per week for up to 10 weeks, up to $750 for materials, up to $250 for travel within the continental United States, free onsite housing and 24/7 studio access during non-Art-in-Education sessions. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
