Alternatives Research & Development Foundation

Category: Animals & Wildlife

The Foundation’s mission is to fund and promote the development, validation, and adoption of non-animal methods in biomedical research, product testing, and education. Universities and research institutions are eligible to apply for the Foundation’s annual grant program. Grants of up to $40,000 will be awarded to support research related to alternatives to the use of laboratory animals in research, testing, and education. Preference is given to projects that use pathway-based approaches as exemplified by the 2007 National Academy of Sciences report, “Toxicity Testing in the 21st Century: A Vision and A Strategy.” Guidelines and additional information can be found on the Web site.
