Description

The Foundation, created by Stephen Spielberg with profits from his movie, “Schindler’s List,” is dedicated toward supporting efforts to build a diverse and vibrant Jewish community in the United States. The Foundation has developed a particular focus on supporting efforts that promote the development of Jewish arts, culture, and media. The Foundation supports programs and projects that revitalize Jewish arts, culture, and identity; engage the next generation; inspire a commitment to social justice; and promote understanding between Jews and those of other faiths and backgrounds. In addition, the Foundation supports programs that identify and train “transmitters” – individuals who can make the Jewish community’s rich history and culture accessible as well as those that inspire social activism based on the Jewish values of justice and responsibility for others. Applicants are requested to submit a letter of inquiry to the Foundation. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
