Category

: Public Policy

Description

The Foundation honors journalists, writers, and public figures who pursue investigative journalism and public policy for the common good. The Foundation’s Hillman Prizes honor journalists who exemplify resourcefulness and courage in reporting, skilled storytelling, social impact, and relevance to the ideals of Sidney Hillman, the founding president of the Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America and an architect of the New Deal. Prizes will be awarded for work produced, published, broadcast or exhibited in 2016. Categories include nonfiction books (bound volumes or ebooks), newspaper reporting (print or online), magazine reporting (print or online), Web journalism (online multimedia reporting by an individual or an institution that should have a substantial visual component as well as text); and opinion journalism (commentary and analysis in any medium). The contest is open to journalists and subjects globally although work must have been intended for and widely accessible to a U.S. audience. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
