Independent Television Service

Category

: Arts & Culture

Description

The Service’s Local Independents Collaborating with Stations (LINCS) program gives independent producers and public television stations an opportunity to form full production and presentation partnerships. LINCS is interested in projects that differ from standard television fare. Programs should stimulate civic discourse and find innovative ways to explore regional, cultural, political, social, or economic issues. Projects should serve underserved audiences with programs that “take creative risks, explore complex issues, and express points of view seldom seen on commercial or public television.” Projects may be in any stage of development. All genres are eligible and public television must be the intended distribution outlet. Station partners must be affiliated with the PBS system and/or receive money from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. Requested funding must be matched by a combination of secured cash and the station’s in-kind and/or cash contributions.
