Description

The Initiative’s Conservation and Community Partnerships grant program provides grants for projects that support partnerships between organizations interested in improving forest management in the U.S. and Canada and responsible procurement globally. The Initiative awards two types of grants: conservation and community. Conservation grants are given to projects that measure, demonstrate, or establish methodologies to demonstrate the conservation-related values of Initiative-certified forestlands or such values that result from applications of the Initiative Fiber Sourcing standard. Also of interest are innovative projects related to the Initiative Forest Management or Fiber Sourcing standards, particularly in the areas of climate change, forest health, water, wildlife, fish, and biodiversity. Community grants strive to connect communities to forests and to educate the next generation of future forest leaders. Additional information as well as application guidelines and forms can be found on the Web site when the funding cycle is open.
