Jessie Smith Noyes Foundation
Category: Social Change
DescriptionThe Foundation supports grassroots organizations and movements in the United States working to change environmental, social, economic, and political conditions to bring about a more just, equitable, and sustainable world. Priority is given to programs and projects in environmental justice, sustainable agriculture and food systems, and reproductive rights. Under reproductive rights, the Foundation does not fund NARAL Pro-Choice America or Planned Parenthood affiliates. The Foundation also supports democratic and inclusive grassroots organizations and movements of affected communities that work statewide or within a state or on tribal lands; engage in community organizing and advocacy, and connect local concerns with broader, systemic issues. Grants are provided throughout the United States in both rural and urban communities. The Foundation also offers support to nonprofits that advocate for sustainable practices in New York City. The first step in applying is to complete the funding quiz found on the Web site.
