National Alliance For Grieving Children

Category

: Children, Youth & Families

Description

The Alliance promotes awareness of the needs of children and teens grieving a death and provides education and resources for anyone who wants to support them. In partnership with the New York Life Foundation, the Alliance is accepting applications from local child bereavement organizations for its Community Expansion Grants. The grants will support programs that bring grief support services to youth from ethnically diverse or low-income communities not served by existing bereavement programs. Through its Grief Reach program, the Alliance will award grants of up to $100,000 to organizations with programs designed to have a direct impact on children. The projects must be in expansion of services to children not currently supported by the program. Programs must serve target populations where 50 percent of the children served are from low-income families or 50 percent of the children must be from minority communities. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
