Tribeca Film Institute
Category: Arts & Culture
DescriptionThe Institute’s Latin America Media Arts Fund supports documentary, animation, or hybrid feature-length films from innovative film and video artists living and working in the Caribbean, Mexico, and Central and South America. The Fund looks for films that bravely push the boundaries of artistic storytelling and show a new and exhilarating side to the Latino identity. Grants are awarded in support of films that are story-driven and in the advanced stages of development, production, or post-production with no existing U.S. or Latin American distribution in place. In addition to funding, each grantee will receive exclusive guidance from the Institute to ensure that each film reaches completion and enters the U.S. marketplace from the best possible vantage point. The TFI/Bloomberg Fellowship, an extension of the Fund, is awarded to Colombian, Brazilian, Chilean, and Mexican documentary filmmakers (living in their respective countries) in order to aid in the development of their projects at any stage. Additional information including an online application can be found on the Web site.
