Diller Teen Tikkun Olam Awards

Description

The awards from the Helen Diller Family Foundation are based on the Jewish concept of “repairing the world.” They recognize Jewish teens who have demonstrated remarkable leadership and are actively engaged in projects that embody the value of tikkun olam. Up to 15 selected teens, five from California and 10 from other communities across the country are acknowledged annually for their visionary actions with an award of $36,000 to be used to further their philanthropic work or their education. Nominees must be between the ages of 13 and 19 at nomination. They must be working to repair the world in a leadership capacity and volunteering without any compensation. They must be self-identified as Jewish. Projects may benefit the Jewish community or the general community. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
