The Foundation is dedicated to promoting understanding of the life and works of composers Kurt Weill and Marc Blitzstein and to preserving the legacies of Weill and his wife, actress-singer Lotte Lenya. The Foundation awards grants for performances of musical works by Weill and Blitzstein; for scholarly research pertaining to Weill, Blitzstein, and Lenya, and for relevant educational initiatives.
