Aaron Copland Fund For Music

Category: Music

The Fund was created from the estate of American contemporary music composer, Aaron Copland. The Fund has three separate grant programs, each with its own objectives and annual application deadline. The Recording Program documents and provides wider exposure for the music of contemporary American composers, develops audiences for contemporary American music through record distribution and other retail markets, and supports the release and dissemination of recordings of previously unreleased contemporary American music and the reissuance of unavailable recordings. The Performing Ensembles Program supports performing organizations whose artistic excellence encourages and improves public knowledge and appreciation of serious contemporary American music. The Supplemental Program supports nonprofits that have a history of substantial commitment to contemporary American music, but whose needs are not addressed by the Fundís programs of support for performing organizations and recording projects such as presenters and music service organizations. Details about each of the grant programs and deadlines can be found on the Web site. The deadline listed is for the Performing Ensembles Program.
