DescriptionThe Foundation is the only philanthropic organizations working exclusively to advance lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and intersex human rights around the globe. The Foundation supports partners in the U.S. and internationally who challenge oppression and seed change. The Foundation works for racial, economic, social, and gender justice. The Foundation’s International Fund supports groups that are based in Africa, Asia/the Pacific, Eastern Europe/Commonwealth of Independent States, Latin America/the Caribbean, or the Middle East. These groups must be led by and/or for LGBTQUI communities and be doing work toward long-term social changes on issues affecting LGBTQI people. The groups must have budgets of less than $500,000 and been active at least one year. Priorities include groups that are led by and are targeted to lesbian/bisexual/queer women, or transgender and/or intersex people. The communities must have historically been marginalized and under-resourced within LGBTQI communities, have active participation and leadership from the communities most affected by issues that the group works on. They must be inclusive and reflect the diversity of the geographic region in which they do their work. Additional criteria and information can be found on the Web site.
