DescriptionThe Foundation is dedicated to increasing the self-reliance and dignity of blind and visually impaired persons. Grants are available to organizations working on both a local and national level, although priority is given to organizations located in the Maine to Washington DC corridor. Grants are generally made for program start-up or improvement, but in some cases the Foundation provides general operating support. Potential grantees are strongly encouraged to contact the Foundation directly prior to submitting an application. Grant proposals are accepted at any time but decisions are made at quarterly board meetings. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
