Trust For The Meditation Process
Category: Religion
DescriptionThe Trust is a charitable foundation that encourages meditation and contemplative practice among Christians. The Trust makes grants to nonprofits that reclaim and teach Christian contemplative traditions, that introduce meditation in the Christian community, or that further understanding of contemplative practice in all spiritual traditions. A Christian layman founded the Trust in 1986 with a deep commitment to meditation and a desire that others share in this heritage. The Trust focuses on short-term projects where a small grant can make a credible impact and result in clearly identifiable outcomes. Funded projects include: workshops, lectures, retreats; sabbaticals, retreats and other development for meditation teachers or group leaders; books, supplies, and equipment for meditation and spiritual growth centers; efforts to better expand and build the capacity of programs in Christian contemplation and address barriers to practice; research on meditation, East/West meditation dialogue, and meditation curriculum development, and publications that effectively spread critical perspectives on meditation. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
