Description

The Foundation, formerly the Nancy Reynolds Bagley Foundation, is dedicated to advancing social equity and justice. Domestically, the Foundation is focused on the promotion of a more equitable, accountable, and transparent economic recovery. It believes that the increasingly dominant role of corporations in democracy is serving as a barrier to that recovery. The Foundation is considering proposals that engage citizens in the promotion of greater corporate accountability and that work to build a movement to advance a more just economy and democracy. The Foundation focuses its grantmaking nationally and only supports local and state-based efforts that are part of a national campaign or project. Strategic initiatives that the Foundation supports includes developing and advocating for innovative ideas; promoting transparency and access to information; fostering greater public debate on critical issues; educating key stakeholders, and engaging citizens in strategic organizing and advocacy that builds power and drives change. Internationally, the Foundation has a long history of supporting policy advocacy that advances more just U.S. foreign policies and human rights. The Foundation does not accept letters of inquiry or requests sent by mail or e-mail. The Web site features three separate application portals and applicants may submit a general support request, submit a project support request, or submit a request if the organization is not a 501(c)3 and is applying for funding through a fiscal sponsor. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
