Description

In cooperation with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Center for HIV, STD and TB Prevention, the United States Conference of Mayors, has issued an RFP for its HIV/AIDS Prevention Grants program. The Program seeks to strengthen local capacities to carry out effective HIV/AIDS prevention activities. RFPs will be accepted for two tracks: Implementation of HIV/AIDS Prevention Services Targeting Native Americans and Implementation of HIV/AIDS Prevention Services Targeting African American or Hispanic Women at High-Risk of HIV Infection. Local health departments, nonprofit community-based organizations, and Native America tribes/nations are eligible to apply. Priority will be given to groups that demonstrate strong community ties and have specific experience in serving the target group or subgroup. Only proposals showing evidence of the target population’s involvement in developing the proposal and a clear role for the target population in conducting the proposed program will be funded.
