Description

The Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the investment Company. The Foundation focuses its grantmaking toward encouraging nonprofits to adopt the highest standards of management and long-term self-reliance. Taking an investment approach to grantmaking, the Foundation funds organizations where it feels it can add lasting, measurable value. It seeks to support major initiatives that nonprofits undertake to reach new levels of achievement. The Foundation’s primary philanthropic interests are in arts and culture and community development and social service. The Foundation also considers grants in health and education although most of the education grants are employee-driven through the Company’s Matching Gifts to Education program. The types of projects funded include planning initiatives, technology projects, capital improvements and organizational development. The Foundation considers projects from organizations of regional or national importance throughout the United States. High-impact projects with the potential to inform or influence the nonprofit sector are of particular interest. The Foundation considers letters of inquiry year round. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
