The Schubert Foundation

Category: Arts & Culture

The Foundation is dedicated to sustaining and advancing the live performing arts in the United States. Preference is given to theater with a secondary focus on dance. The Foundation provides general operating support to nonprofit, professional resident theater and dance companies as well as some arts-related organizations that help support their development. Grant recipients must have a track record of artistic achievement, administrative strength, and fiscal responsibility. The Foundation does not make grants to individuals or provide funds for project support, audience development, direct subsidy of reduced-price admissions, conduit organizations, renovation projects, loans, capital, or endowment campaigns. A limited number of grants are also made to graduate drama departments of private universities. The listed deadline is for dance, arts-related, and education applications. Theater applications are due on December 3. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
