Equus Foundation
Category: Animals & Wildlife
DescriptionThe Foundation is dedicated to improving the quality of life of horses, fostering the use of horses to enrich the lives of those in need, and educating the public about the horse’s unique ability to empower, teach, and heal. The Foundation has two funding priorities: one related to the horse as therapy or recreation and the other related to the animal itself. Under the horse as therapy/recreation, the Foundation makes grants to therapeutic riding programs, equine-assisted activities, and horsemanship programs. Under the animal-related program, grants are awarded for horse rescue, rehabilitation, adoption, foster care, and retirement. Applications will only be accepted through the online application process. The process is only available from May 1 through June 15, 2013. Additional details can be found on the Web site.
