American Alliance Of Museums
|Category: Arts & Culture
The Allianceís Museums Connect grants seeks to strengthen connections and cultural understanding between people in the United States and abroad through collaborative and innovative projects facilitated by museums. The programís two goals are to ensure that communities in the U.S. and abroad develop a broader knowledge about, and understanding of, each otherís cultures and that museums and related arts and cultural organizations create replicable models for international collaborations that reach beyond their physical walls to directly engage community members. The following themes have been selected for the programís 2013 grant cycle: Adapting to Changing Demographics, Investing in Green Practices, Promoting Disability Rights and Engagement, Developing Amateur Experts, and Addressing Community Challenges. The program is made possible by the U.S. Department of Stateís Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and administered by the American Alliance of Museums. Awards are offered on an annual basis (contingent upon funding) in amounts between $50,000 and $100,000 and require a 50% cost-share match. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
