DescriptionThe Foundation is an international community foundation dedicated to the oceans. Its mission is to support, strengthen, and promote those organizations dedicated to reversing the trend of destruction of ocean environments around the world. The Foundation raises funds from individuals corporate donors, private foundations, and governments to meet its mission through five lines of business: Fiscal Sponsorship Fund services, Field of Interest grantmaking funds, green resort partnerships, committee and donor advised funds, and consulting services. While the Foundation does not maintain a generic open request for proposals and instead only solicits proposals for which it has an interested donor, the Foundation does encourage a one-page letter of inquiry for potential grantees to share information about their programs.
