DescriptionThe Foundation is a small family fund created by the late pediatrician and entrepreneur, Dr. David H. Smith. Smith believed in the power of individuals and organizations to make significant changes in the world. Grantmaking focuses on the following areas: sustainable agriculture, environmental education, environmental health. Priority is given to proposals that demonstrated strong elements of environmental justice and conservation. While the Foundation does not accept unsolicited proposals, it does encourage letters of inquiry. Some additional information can be found on the Web site.
