Avance
Category: Children, Youth & Families
DescriptionThe Organization, a nonprofit that provides parenting and early childhood education programs along with other family support services, is accepting proposals from other nonprofits to enter into a re-granting agreement to implement AVANCE’S nine-month, evidence-based Parent-Child Education Program, an expansion of the Unlocking America’s Potential Project (UAPP). The Project was created in 2010 with a $12.6 million grant from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. AVANCE is “re-granting” the Kellogg funds over a three-year period (2011-2013) to 12 qualified organizations serving low-income Hispanic families. The re-grant program allows for a one-time payment of $50,000 to selected organizations to help with initial year setup costs. Selected partners must commit to continuing the AVANCE program as a licensee for two years. Applicants must be nonprofits with the capacity to serve a minimum of 25 families. This is the third and final UAPP request for proposals. Four organizations will be selected in this round. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
