Rsf Social Finance

Category

: Social Change

Description

The Organization is a pioneering nonprofit financial services organization dedicated to transforming the way the world works with money. Originally the Rudolf Steiner Foundation, RSF Social Finance began making loans to Steiner-inspired organizations in 1984. During the late 1990s, RSF’s mission expanded to serve a broader range of clients whose intentions and values are compatible with Steiner’s insights on associative economics and social renewal. The Organization’s Seed Fund provides small grants of $500 to $5,000 to nonprofits as well as individuals doing charitable work. Funded projects must address one of the following focus areas: Food and Agriculture, Education and Arts, and Ecological Stewardship. The food and agriculture category encourages new economic models that support sustainable food and agriculture while raising public awareness of the value of organic and Biodynamic farming. Education and the arts category supports education and arts projects that are holistic and therapeutic. The Ecological Stewardship category promotes projects devoted to preserving the earth’s ecosystems, especially integrated, systems-based, and culturally relevant approaches. Additional information and an online application can be found on the Web site.
