The Raikes Foundation
Category: Regional
DescriptionThe Foundation provides opportunities and support during adolescence to help young people become healthy, contributing adults. Grants are focused on two areas: Building Tenacity in Early Adolescents (ages 10-14) and Improving Youth Program Quality. Early Adolescent grants focus on developing the mindsets, skills, and habits that support youth in productively persisting (i.e. tenacity) through middle grades and on to college, career, and life success. Grants aim to strengthen the research base surrounding tenacity. Proposals are accepted for this grant program by invitation only. Improving Youth Quality grants seek to strengthen the quality of out-of-school time programs that serve adolescents in Washington State. The Foundation is currently supporting youth-serving organizations in King, Spokane, and Tacoma counties. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
