DescriptionThe Organization is a merger of American Music Center and Meet the Composer. Its goal is to increase opportunities for composers by fostering the creation, performance, dissemination, and appreciation of their music. The Organization’s Composer Assistance Program – Recording grants provide direct assistance for first recordings of music by living American composers, or for the reissuance of recordings of works by living American composers that are no longer available. Grants are project-based and there must be a specific work (or works) associated with the grant request. Grants are intended to help advance the careers of early and mid-career composers. Applications from established composers who have achieved significant career accomplishments will not be funded by this program. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
