Sunderland Foundation
Category: Regional
DescriptionThe Foundation invests in the places and spaces where nonprofits to their work. Grants help build the places where families in distress find help and healing, where young minds grow and thrive, and where communities come together for celebration and inspiration. The Foundation focuses its grantmaking on bricks and mortar projects including building construction, renovation, repairs, and restoration. Areas of interest include higher education, churches, youth serving agencies, health facilities, community buildings, museums, civic projects, and low-maintenance energy efficient housing projects sponsored by qualified tax-exempt organizations. The Foundation supports organizations in Arkansas, western Iowa, Kansas, western Missouri, and Nebraska and to a lesser extent in Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Utah, and Montana. Preference is given to larger, well-established nonprofits. Proposals are accepted on an ongoing basis and are approved by the Board of Trustees at meetings in April, June, September, and December. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
