Lumina Foundation
Category: Education
DescriptionThe Foundation believes that education provides the basis for individual opportunity, economic vitality, and social stability. Its overarching goal is to increase the higher education attainment rate of the United States to 60 percent by 2025. This will represent an increase of 23 million graduates above current levels of production. While the majority of the Foundation’s grants are awarded to partners solicited by the Foundation based on unique capacity or their position to leverage large-scale social change, the Foundation does accept unsolicited letters of inquiry. It proactively seeks programs and projects that increase awareness of the benefits of higher education; improve student access to and preparedness for college; improve student success in college; and improve productivity across the higher education system. Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit letters of inquiry electronically. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
