DescriptionThe Foundation is a small family foundation created by the late pediatrician and entrepreneur, Dr. David H. Smith. Smith believed in the power of individuals and organizations to make significant changes in the world and that view is reflected in the Foundation’s grantmaking philosophy. The Foundation focuses its grantmaking on three areas: sustainable agriculture, environmental education, and environmental health. The Foundation will also consider proposals demonstrating strong elements of environmental justice and conservation. The Foundation does not accept unsolicited proposals but welcomes letters of inquiry. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
