Description

The Trust’s mission is to achieve extraordinary improvements in human and animal health. To do this, the Trust supports the brightest minds in biomedical research and medical humanities. The Trust focuses on three key areas of activity, reaching across five major research challenges: investigator awards, fellowships, strategic awards, technology transfer awards, medical history and humanities awards, biomedical ethics awards, and public engagement awards. Under the public engagement awards, the Trust seeks projects that aim to inform and inspire the public about biomedical science and its social contexts. Projects can include films, theater productions, exhibitions, events, and multimedia. They can also consider the social, cultural, ethical, and historical issues related to biomedical science. Applicants must be based in the United Kingdom or the Republic of Ireland and the activity must take place in the UK or the Republic of Ireland. Public Engagement grants may be applied for using the e-Grants online system although the Trust accepts these particular applications via hard copy. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
