Rasmuson Foundation
Category: Regional
DescriptionThe Foundation’s Sabbatical Program is designed to provide nonprofit and tribal leaders in Alaska with time away to engage in activities for personal renewal or professional growth. The Foundation believes that nonprofit CEOs/executive directors and tribal administrators better serve their organization when they have extended opportunities to reflect on their work, gain insight into what they want to accomplish in their careers, learn better ways to run their organizations, and renew their personal energy. Awards will support sabbaticals of a minimum of 60 continuous and a maximum of 180 continuous days. Grants are awarded to the organization to be used specifically for the individual taking the sabbatical to cover salary and expenses during the time away. The Foundation makes no distinction between large and small organizations. Applicants must be the CEO, executive director, or tribal administrator of their organization and must be an Alaska resident with at least five years in the nonprofit sector and at least three years in their current position. A nomination form and additional information can be found on the Web site.
