DescriptionThe Organization is seeking proposals for its Good Husbandry Grants. The Organization, a market-based solution to growing consumer interest in how farm animals are raised, certifies family farms that raise their animals with the highest welfare standards. The Organization funds projects to improve farm animal welfare in three areas: increased outdoor access, improved genetics, and improved slaughter facilities. Farmers who are currently Animal Welfare Approved and those who have applied to join the program may apply for a grant. Slaughter plants working with AWA farms are also eligible to apply but should call the Organization before submitting a proposal. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
