Description

The Institute’s broad mandate is international conflict resolution. The annual grant competition offers support for research, education and training, and the dissemination of information on international peace and conflict resolution. Topics of interest to the Institute, but not limited to it, are conflict analysis and prevention; mediation and conflict resolution; post-conflict peace and stability operations; and religion and peacemaking. Other topics of interest include women and girls in conflict and peace building; the rule of law and transitional justice; economies and conflict; social, psychological, and physical impacts of war and conflict; and media and conflict. Grants may be awarded to nonprofit organizations and individuals both in the U.S. and abroad including institutions of post-secondary, community, and secondary education; public and private education, training, or research institutions; and libraries. Projects can include policy-oriented research, dialogue, education, and training programs; conferences, workshops, Track II mediations; library development and media projects such as documentary films, TV, and radio programs, and print media. The priority grantmaking competition has specific areas of interest for each country. The areas are found on the Web site.
