Category: Regional
DescriptionThe Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Moody’s Corporation, the parent company of Moody’s Investors Services. The Corporation provides credit ratings and research covering debt instruments and securities. The Corporation believes it’s important to contribute to the communities in which it operates. It focuses its grantmaking on four areas: education, health and human services, arts and culture, and civic programs. Education grants address the improvement of mathematics and economics education in grades K-12 and increase the basic understanding of the financial markets for students in grades 9-12. Education grants also fund programs that encourage women and minorities to study and excel in finance and economics in institutions of higher education and to seek employment in the financial sector. Health and human services grants support research and programs that promote intellectual health as it relates to adults and children functioning at their greatest potential as well as providing support to a limited number of medical institutions. Arts, culture, and civic grants are aimed at enriching the quality of life in communities where employees live and work. Grants are made to organizations in New York City, San Francisco, and London.
