Aetna Foundation
Category: Health
DescriptionThe Foundation is dedicated to promoting wellness, health, and access to high quality health care for everyone while supporting the communities that the company serves. It focuses its grantmaking on the following topics: obesity, racial and ethnic health care equity, and integrated health care. Obesity grants address the rising rates of obesity among adults and children. Racial and ethnic health care equity grants promote equity in health and health care for common chronic conditions and infant mortality. Integrated health care grants seek to advance high-quality health care by improving care coordination and communications among health-care professionals; create informed and involved patients; and promote cost-effective, affordable care. Priority is given to applications that address more than one of these areas. The Foundation considers national and regional grants. National requests are defined as projects that can be generalized across the nation. Implications or results from the projects are not limited to one geographic area and have national impact and relevance. Regional requests are defined as projects having impact and relevance for a specific region, state, or community. Regional projects are concentrated in the following locations: Phoenix, Los Angeles, Miami, Atlanta, Chicago, Baltimore and D.C. areas, New York City, Philadelphia, Dallas, Houston, Austin, San Antonio, and Connecticut and New Jersey.
