National Science Foundation
Category: Education
DescriptionThe Foundation’s Math and Science Partnership program seeks to improve K-12 student achievement through a sharp focus on three inter-related issues. The issues are: ensuring that all students have access to, are prepared for, and are encouraged to participate and succeed in challenging and advanced math and science courses; enhancing the quality, quantity, and diversity of the K-12 math and science teacher workforce; and developing evidence-based outcomes that contribute to understanding of how students effectively learn math and science. The partnerships projects are expected to raise the level of all students and significantly reduce achievement gaps in math and science performance among diverse student populations. The Foundation will award five types of awards: target partnerships, institute partnerships (Teacher Institutes for the 21st Century), MSP Start partnerships, Phase II partnerships, and Research, Evaluation, and Technical Assistance projects. Additional details about each of the awards and application information can be found on the Web site.
