Meacham Foundation Memorial Grant

Description

Administered by American Humane, the grant was established in 1969 in memory of Ms. Tressa Meacham to provide financial assistance to agencies for shelter expansion or improvement. Applicants must be an agency member of American Humane and have a physical plant within which animals are sheltered. Applicants must also shelter an animal population primarily comprising dogs, cats, and/or horses and place animals in private homes by means of an adoption program. The grants are awarded only for animal environment enrichment, construction, physical improvements, capital improvements, veterinary equipment, spay/neuter equipment, or equipment that directly impacts the welfare of animals in the shelter or capital improvement. Agency applicants receiving grants for capital improvement or construction must either own the property on which such improvements will be made or hold a long-term lease, with a minimum of five years remaining on the property and/or the facility. Applications must be submitted between January 1 and the last day of February to be considered. Additional information including an application can be found on the Web site.
