DescriptionThe Foundation, whose membership is comprised of financial professionals, allows members around the world to support causes they care about in a powerful way. Grant programs are member-driven. Members decide where funds are distributed by sponsoring grants for charitable organizations of interest to the members. The Foundation awards two types of grants: quality of life, and worldwide grants. Quality of life grants recognize outstanding volunteerism and leadership by MDRT members who are actively involved with charitable organizations. Worldwide grants recognize programs or projects that reach those less fortunate in MDRT member communities around the globe. The Foundation has awarded more than $26 million benefitting people in 67 countries and all 50 U.S. states. The primary focus of the 2010 grants is charities that help people help themselves.
