Description

The Council fosters and promotes the study and enjoyment of, and the production of, works in the arts. The Council provides grants and services to professional Canadian artists and arts organizations in the fields of dance, inter-arts, media arts, music, theater, visual arts, and writing and publishing. Types of grants offered to arts organizations include operating funds, organizational development assistance, project assistance, and presenting and dissemination assistance. All applicants must be staffed by arts professionals who create artistic works or present them to the Canadian public. Eligible organizations include theater companies, art museums, public galleries, artist-run centers, dance companies, orchestras, and film cooperatives. Professional publishing houses are also eligible for grant support through the writing and publishing section. The deadline is for grants for dance projects. Other areas have various deadlines.
