DescriptionThe Foundation was created in 2003 to ensure no pet is euthanized for lack of a home. The Foundation helps animal shelters and adoption organizations better communicate their needs and services; works with Petfinder members to enhance their adoption program and percentages; and provides financial and technical assistance to animal organizations affected by natural disasters. The Foundation only accepts letters of inquiry and unsolicited proposals for disaster-relief emergency grants. Disaster grants support emergency equipment or supplies, including communications and technological equipment; emergency animal transport and housing; business continuity information management systems to enable operations during and after disasters; and equipment and training for emergency responders.
