Unitarian Universalist Veatch Program
Category: Religion
DescriptionThe Program supports organizations that put Unitarian Universalists principles into practice. The Program funds Unitarian Universalist and community organizations working on a variety of issues in different parts of the country. Grants also support Unitarian Universalist organizations that increase the involvement of Unitarian Universalists in social action and nondenominational organizations whose goals reflect the principles of Unitarian Universalism. Topics of interest include community organizing and democratic participation; civil and constitutional rights, environmental justice, and global democracy; economic equity and democracy, workplace organizing; infrastructure, media and communications and progressive philanthropy; the New York metro initiative; and special projects. The Program funds grassroots organizations of people, not “experts,” believing that only by rebuilding democracy from the bottom up can truly new policies be envisioned, advocated, and implemented. Letters of inquiry are requested. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
