The Allen Foundation

Category

: Health

Description

The Foundation’s grantmaking is focused on nutrition. Grants are awarded to fund relevant nutritional research; support programs that train and educate mothers during pregnancy and after the birth of their children; assist in the training of people to work as educators and demonstrators of good nutritional practices; and in limited situations to help solve immediate emergency hunger and malnutrition problems. Under certain circumstances, the Foundation will consider requests from hospitals or medical clinics; social, religious, fraternal, or community organizations; private foundations; and K-12 public, parochial, or private schools. Preference may be given to proposals that include matching funds from the institutions or other partners including in-kind contributions. Potential applicants are asked to take an eligibility quiz found on the Web site before sending a proposal.
