DescriptionThe Foundation’s Sea Turtle Grants program supports sea turtle research, conservation efforts, and education projects that benefit Florida sea turtles. Funding is provided for conservation, education, or research projects that add to the preservation of Florida’s marine turtles. Conservation includes protection of marine turtles, their nests, and hatchlings from harmful activities on the nesting beach. It also includes the care and rehabilitation of sick or injured sea turtles. Education funds may be used for the development, production, and distribution of educational materials and programs that promote the understanding of the biology, health, life history, and habitat needs of Florida’s marine turtles and species’ protection and conservation. Research includes conservation research for the improvement of strategies to protect marine turtles. Funds may not be used for materials that contain fundraising or membership development language.
